Buhari Says Meeting Chibok Girls’ Parents Not Good For His Emotional State; Oby Ezekwesili Fires Back!

Former Minister of Education and BBOG activist, Oby Ezekwesili is definitely not happy with President Buhari’s latest interview with CNN’s Christine Amanpour where he was asked an array of questions including effort to recover the Chibok girls.

President Buhari in the interview revealed that he’s yet to see the CNN, proof of life video which was released recently which showed 15 of the abducted Chibok girls.

Oby Ezekwesili thinks that the President’s reply of not seeing the video yet shows his insensitivity to the plight of the missing girls and their parents. President Buhari also said that meeting with the parents of the girls also has an effect on his emotional balance and Oby isn’t happy with this.
Here’s what President Buhari wrote below and Oby’s reaction below as well.

“I haven’t seen that video but even if I see it, I will be very careful about showing it to the families. There is no point to deliberately raise hopes of the families if you can’t meet them. I saw the families as a group twice. One, they came to visit my wife, two, they came as a group to see me and the less I see them the better for my own emotional balance. I try to imagine y 14 year old daughter, 14-18, missing for more than two years and trying to imagine what condition are they in. A lot of the parents will rather see their grave than imagine the condition they are in now. Its tragic” , he said.
